Yes, IC isn't really a test, per say. It allows you to go through, memorize the material or become familiar with it. And they believe that fill in the blanks is a better teaching tool than multiple choice. The Petersons tests are practice tests in the same format as the real CLEP tests. But, yes, I will agree that they are often much harder than the real test (like College Math, though the Am. Lit. was pretty much the same). If I do the 3 Petersons, and have a passing grade between 50-60, I will usually score at least 5 points higher on the real test.
