cmonfet - I just took this one today. It is really broad. Know the major historical events, but not dates - know the major players.
Who claimed american land for England? Who's credited with the concept of social contracts? What is not true of various periods of time (renissance<sp> etc.). Tenents of Keynesian economics and monetary policy... it really is varied. I noticed that on my exam it seemed to follow the layout of the clep guide - history first, then poli sci, then economics, anthro... It got easier for me as I went along - just based on the topics I knew the best.
I could say for sure that out of 120 questions - I absolutely did not know 25 of them. I scored a 65 when it was all said and done - whew!
Take advantage of the links Snazz posted on another thread (study materials, I think) it's got free practice tests galore. Use them; you can't know too much for this one.
GOOD LUCK!!
