I studied like the dickens for it
and then felt silly afterward when I realized I could have passed probably without studying at all. (And since Excelsior doesn't give letter grades for CLEPs, my 78 was no better than a 50 would have been.) If you know your culture, try some practice tests. If you score above 50% on the CLEP official practice test, you're probably ready. I also used the REA practice tests, which are much harder than the real thing. If you get 30-40% on those, you're probably ready. (The REA book is right on the money as far as the material.)
