- Did you feel this exam was easy, hard, or in between?
- How does it compare against other DANTES exams you have taken?
I would compare the difficulty level to the the "Soviet Union" exam.
Other tests I have taken:
Civil War (68)
Rise and Fall of UssR (67)
Drug and Alcohol (62)
Vietnam War (73)
- Are there any specific areas I should focus my studies on?
For example, one should be familiar with the First Indochina war involving the French and the french defeat at Dien Bein Phu in 1954, all the key players on both sides (Nixon, Kissinger, Westmoreland, McNamara, etc. for US and Ho Chi Min, Pham Van Dong, and Ho's Generals for No. Vietnam), names of major operations (Flaming Dart, Rolling Thunder, Cedar Falls, etc.), know what a "strategic hamlet" is (concentration camp), and what the "phoenix program" involved (assassination)...
The test covered the period up to Vietnam's invasion of Cambodia, which was well after the US had pulled out.
- Did you by any chance save any of your study notes?
No, the only notes I used were fact sheets that I found by using google, or wikipedia. The primary study aid I used was those DVDs and the "Dummies" guide.
Hope this helps
