Hello Avi -
Without sounding (or actually being) naive, obtuse (or both) but may I presume that you have run out of CLEP and DANTES exam options? I cannot speak to the TECEP exams, but have found a great amount of satisfation (and credits) with both CLEP & DANTES exams. Aside from IC as the number one site for exam prep, you may need as you put it a "small study guide" from timre-to-time but NEVER a "huge heavy textbook."
Once again please excuse my ignorance of your education experience and history; perhaps some info in a signature line would help (me)?
GOOD LUCK!!
