Hi Kate,
I agree with Casey, it would be worth putting up with dial-up speed for now. Just temporarily, until broadband reaches you.
The library is another GREAT suggestion.
Studying for Accounting without IC or internet access would be a huge impairment as you study for the exam.
IC and a few internet sites were all I used to prepare, and they served me VERY well.
If I were you, I would move mountains to try to get access to the internet. If not, maybe I could create a zip file out of a bunch of online accounting tutorial pages for you. Of course, you'd need to have access to the internet for me to be able to email them to you. Unless, they will fit on a floppy disk.
I'm just brainstorming a bit with you.
I will be more than happy to help you in any way I can. But honestly...you really should try to get internet access of SOME sort. Anything else should be an option of last resort.
IC and the various web sites are THE way to go. I spent two weeks and countless hours scouring through IC, web tutorials, and looking things up on Wikipedia in order to prepare adequately.
I hope you can find a way to make it happen.
Let me know if I can help,
Snazzlefrag
