Sounds like a great idea; unfortunately, I barely have time to keep up with the posts, much less do an overhaul of the forum structure.
As far as I can tell, the Search function seems to work fairly well when trying to find subject-specific posts.
If our traffic/post rate goes up, I will be keeping your idea in mind.
