Major Changes to Psych degree requirements
For those of you who are planning to pursue a BS degree in Psychology through Excelsior College, you might want to consider enrolling BEFORE the end of this year.
Yesterday I e-mailed an advisor on the Liberal Arts Advising Team at Excelsior about the changes they anticipate making to the degree requirements effective January 1, 2007. This is what she wrote in reply:
“I cannot provide you with the specific changes to the Psychology major at this time. What I can tell you, however, is that this particular major will become much more prescribed--there will be fewer choices (no longer choose 4 out of 12 subjects from a list under Section II--now it will be 5 out of 5 required).
Also, our current major requirements are able to be met exclusively by Credit by Exam if a student wishes. This will no longer be the case under the new requirements. In fact, for a few of the requirements, students will have to transfer in the credit from other schools until such a time as we increase our course offerings in support of the major requirements.”
Just thought I’d pass this along….
