Delurking to say that the only reason I want my B.S. at all is that I can't get my teaching credential without one. I've spent ten years as a technical editor sans degree, so I'm not motivated by advancement as much as change.

So, yes, some form of post-baccalaureate education is in my future -- I just have to decide between the 36-credit certificate and the 48-credit M.A.T. The price differential is only about $20K.

Once I'm credentialed, I'd like to get my M.Ed in special education followed, possibly, by a PhD or EdD in educational leadership or a second M.Ed in Reading (Reading Specialist).

Literacy is one of my chief passions. Reading has brought me such joy and escape for so many years that I can't imagine not sharing that with others! Once I finish my B.S., I plan to put my studies on hold for a year to volunteer. I'm investigating a couple of local literacy-minded opportunities and couldn't be more excited.
