I may be wrong, but I don't think TESC would take the GRE credits, even on an Excelsior transcript. I believe they did their own re-evaluation.

I just wanted to note here that I did confirm that the TECEP Operations Management's passing score is 50. I took and passed this test last month and while it was decently hard, with the passing score of 50, it's definitely very doable. If you read the textbook cover to cover, focusing on the areas the TECEP pdf describes, and use the IC questions, you should pass. This link: Senior Level. Final stretch of upper-level credits was also helpful for me and is accurate.

Business Policy is exactly as described in the Exam Descriptions section. (though I got zero questions about either matrix) I read the recommended textbook and then reviewed the mentioned areas with the textbook and the quickMBA site. The information on this test is great! While this test sounds scary, the writing isn't that bad (though tiring!) and the questions aren't tricky. I actually felt I did way better than my score (75 ) but I still have a feeling they won't fail you easily.

My older brother took this test about a month after me and the questions were exactly the same. Unless they change the test, nothing in it should surprise you. It wouldn't be ethical to give the questions, but with the imformation on the site, this test shouldn't be a cause of high blood pressure.

I'm reposting this to let you all know that I have finished Production/Operations Management in 1 month with an A+.

If you're going for a business degree at Excelsior College, you will need credits in Production/Operations Management and Business Policy. CLEP and DSST do not offer these exams. TECEP exams seem to be the popular alternative, however, they are reputed to be difficult, expensive, and slow to provide your scores. Rumor has it they cost $450 each, and it takes a good 6 weeks or longer to receive your results. Let me tell you about a cheaper, and possibly quicker alternative that will get you your 3 credits quicker than TECEP.

CSU-Pueblo (Colo St. Univ) offers independent study courses for both of the Excelsior College courses I mentioned. You pay tuition of $297 per course then the Professor emails you a syllabus (which is really a workbook of 20 Application Exercise assignments). You get 6 months to turn in the required assignments and to take 4 exams. The professor will email you an exam before you need it. He will email it to you to take at home. NO PROXY EXAMS!!! You can bust out the assignments and exams as quickly as possible and the professor usually grades them within 24 hours... actually I had most of them graded within a few hours when I submitted them in the morning.

I just finished Production/Operations Management in 1 month. I started on April 9 and finished on May 10.

Plus, the Prof is available for questions by email.
PLUS... They do NOT verify that you have met the prerequisite courses. Even though you would do yourself an injustice to skip over the prerequisite courses, in my opinion. You need them anyway.

You can take the course for $297 in... let's say.. 1 month and get a final grade right away. That sure beats spending $400 for a scary TECEP test that you don't know how well to study for and a long, drug out, lag time waiting for the test to be graded. Besides... what if you fail it?? What a waste of time AND money.
See both course descriptions on this page...

    http://coned.colostate-pueblo.edu/In...entStudy/Mgmt/

I've done my research and I think you'd be doing something if you found a better value for Production/Operations Management and/or Business Policy at LSU (independent study) or anywhere else. LSU has a restriction on assignments per week. CSU-Pueblo does not.

The text book was $65 online with a CD that has software you need for the assignments. The CD is a MUST HAVE!!

Hope this info helps you as much as me.
    thanks for the info.

I just completed the MGMT311 at CSU-Pueblo. I must say, I was totally impressed with the instructor on his turn around time. On some of the math, I was able to use my local public library's website for online tutoring for additional assistance. In addition to Managerial Accounting, I was able to knock this course out in 20 days (01/20 - 02/10) and got 977/1000. He is a very fair grader and very quick. Matter of fact, on Sunday morning at 5am I emailed him exam 3 and by 9am, I was given exam 4 which I completed this morning by 6am. By the time I got to work he already graded it and updated the blackboard by 8:10.

I want to thank barcotta for his detailed write up on the course. I would have lost points if it wasn't for catching the low-level coding on one of the diagrams

Default CSU Tuition Increase (MGMT 311: Operations and Quality Management)

When I checked their web site on Sunday, 1/8/09, I noticed the increase. I still plan on enrolling in their course. I like the idea of not having to take a proctored exam, and I don't mind completing the assignements. (I already have the textbook with the CD-ROM.)

For me the cost will be approximately the same as paying for the TESC Operations/Mgt exam.

    Default This is just great!!

I ordered the book because I knew this course was a requirement for my degree and I intended on enrolling next month in the course. I just got the book and was showing my daughter. Phone rang - she bolted and stepped on the CD - now its broke!!!

Anyone have any suggestions on getting the CD replaced without buying another book????

You most likely have the 9th edition of the book. I've got the 8th edition here, and I can probably manage to upload it for you if you're unable to secure a proper replacement. I just checked its contents, it's about 490 MB in size (compressed). I can alternatively remove the videos and the Powerpoint lecture notes which takes that number down to less than 70 MB after compression.

You don't really need the CD. Earlier in this thread I posted all the software you need to complete the course, including some not found on the CD, which may be found at this link:

What a coincidence... That is exactly the same score that I got. Professor is very quick to turn things around. this is a great option for fulfilling this requirement. I can't really add any more than what has been said already. Follow the instructions of the folks that've already posted and you will crush this course. I'm getting reimbursed through work so cost was not a huge issue. I'm getting my whole degree done under the yearly limit for education.
