Hey, that's great! Finally someone figured it out. Thank you. For those who are familiar with the subject, have the time and would like to save some money, this is a great option. And it's not very difficult to complete the requirements, depending on your background.

I think as far as I'm concerned, I will be going the CLEP/DSST route just because it's faster and less of an administrative headache.

But as you've mentioned, ALEKS is a great learning tool, especially if you really what know your stuff.

ehhh sorry i'm a little slow today, i dont know if i get it.
so you sign up for ALEKS, do their little assignments and online quizzes, then you contact ACE letting them know you've finished, then they recommend you for credit?

    Addision,

Would you be willing to post the form sent to you by ACE? My reply from someone in program evaluations with ACE said that ACE does not provide a form, it's up to ALEKS to report to ACE instead.

One of these days, we'll get it figured out, I hope!

    Default ACE Forms for credit

Ok here are the forms, maybe someone could make them a sticky so other can have them as well. I have included them as an attachment, but I'm not sure how you access them.

Maybe someone could let me know?

Where did you put the forms for ACE credit?

I am confused, what am I missing? I won't have to take a proctored exam? I just do the Aleks class Beginning Algebra, and then contact ACE for credit? Then ACE sends my credit to Excelsior? Do I need to contact ALeks and/ or Ace beforehand and tell them I want to get credit? Or fill out paperwork? I am already signed up with Aleks and am working on beginning Algebra. (I was using it to try to pass the college math clep but I like this plan more.)

Well I just finished Beginning Algebra in a total 36 hours, which took a month, thus the total cost so far for 3 math credits is US$19.95, which is really affordable indeed.

The downside from an exam taker perspective is the frequent re-assesments, but in my case, I could not beat the comfort of my house, and the total confidence I know the material well.

I will update this thread again when I have the details of the process to get the credits showing up on my Excelsior transcript.

    Update

    A) You must register at ACE (which is great for other ACE reviewed courses as well) you can either mail in a PDF or use this link (I believe there is a one time ACE fee of US$40):
    https://www.acenet.edu/transcripts/r...r/register.cfm
This can be used instead of using ACE Participant form.pdf

    B) Then the attached form ACE Class Form.pdf has to be:
    1. filled in by the student
    2. sent to ALEKS (I filled in mine, scanned it to pdf and emailed support@aleks.com)
    3. which in turn signs and faxes it to ACE at (202) 775-8578

Instructions on how to fill in the form:
    • BOX A: Course name, in this case Beginning Algebra
    • BOX B: ACE Institution Code is ALEK
    • BOX C: ACE Course number is 0001 for Beginning Algebra
    • BOX D: Date the Aleks course was completed
    • BOX E: Location code for all Aleks courses is 001
    • BOX F: Student's SSN (I used my SIN as Canadian without any problems)
    • BOX G: Student's first and last names

    C) ACE well then post the course completion unto the ACE Credit Transcript web site, which you then order a transcript sent to your institution. To trully save, wait till all the courses are completed prior to paying US$15 ACE Transcript mailing fee. https://www.acenet.edu/transcripts
    • Login then
    • Select Order Transcripts
    • Select Order Credit Transcripts
    • Select ACE Institution List
    • Follow the onscreen instruction to add the institution name
    • Enter your Institution records office address(see below)
    • Select Add this address
    • Confirm the mailing address by selecting Continue
    • Enter credit card information into Payment & Billing Information

Here are Records Office address for some popular institutions in this forum:
    Excelsior College
    Records Office
    7 Columbia Circle
    Albany, NY 12203-5159

    Thomas Edison State College
    The Office of the Registrar
    101 W. State St.
    Trenton, N.J. 08608-1176

    Charter Oak State College
    Office of the Registrar
    55 Paul Manafort Drive
    New Britain, CT 06053-2150

*umm the pdf size is 77KB, thus I cannot attached the form, can a moderator increase the maximum pdf attachment size from 19.5KB to 80 KB for PDF, in the mean time, the pdf form is in a ZIP
    Attached Files
File Type: zip ALEKS-ACE Class Form.zip (70.9 KB, 109 views)

Gus I recommend the online process instead of the pdf way to open your initial ACE account, much faster and no requirement for SSN.
