    Default They have my vote...

I've taken 3 of 5 exams so far...yes, all today. My average is 85. I ran into a few problems that I just couldn't remember how to do so I kind of had to make educated guesses here and there. No studying. I should finish with a solid B. I was scared enough on the third test to realize I need to actually do some studying before the 4th exam. ;-) I still planning on wrapping this up tomorrow though.

So here's the tally. If I finish tomorrow I will have spent about 2 days "enrolled" in the class. Spent $99 on Straighterline.com and $30 for the FHSU app. I should have my college algebra credit on a transcript hopefully within 3 to 4 weeks.

I agree that Jenifer is awesome. Their customer service and the experience -- although brief so far -- has been very very good.

I could have completed the course in a few days with a B, but I can't live with a B. I am spending a few hours per week studying and then a few hours on the weekend, so I can get an A.

Fort Hays is RA, so the Big 3 will accept their credits.

Straighterline has partner colleges that the credits will transfer to, then they will transfer anywhere that will accept RA credits.

    StraighterLine

Straighterline for $99 is a one month program. You need to sign up, pay, and then cancel immediately. Inform Jenifer that you would like the one month option and cancel the day that you pay, so you will not be charged another $99 after 30 days.

I have an email into TESC to check on if they will accept the credits for Fort Hayes. I am sure they will I just want to be 100% certain. I also asked straightline if it was a pass/fail or a letter grade, should know something tomorrow.

Does anyone have any suggestions? Hopefully a school where I can just take that one course and be done with it? Thanks.

You said EC is too expensive, Doesn't TA cover everything? except for the book of course. I'm taking two courses thru them right now and TA covered everything, I bought the books cheap at amazon.

I think I will have my wife try the Straighterline program for her Algebra.

TA only works if the course is in your degree plan. I'm done with my req's for B.S. so there's no way for me to use TA for that course. I have to pay for it. That's a nasty little secret about military tuition assistance. If you want or need a class outside of your specific degree plan filed with goArmyed you are out of luck on getting the Army to pay. The only other options are to use your G.I.Bill or pay out of pocket.

Wow, I am glad it isn't like that with the other services. We are allowed to take any course we want, anytime. As long as it equates to credit and isn't a technical job type course, we are good to go up to our $4500. I wouldn't see why it would be different for the Army, but if it is, sucks for you.

But don't say that it is a nasty secret for MILITARY tuition assistance, because it isn't. I guess that is the Army's dirty little secret.
