Default BA in Criminal Justice from TESC

My daughter is interested in pursuing a Criminal Justice degree from TESC and we have a question about the requirements. I looked in the catalog and at the credit distribution online and neither place stated a minimum number of upper level credits required.

Is there a specific number of upper level required and, if so, how many? Also, would 200 level courses from Penn Foster count as upper level? I know 200 level courses are normally accepted as UL but since they will be coming in on an ACE transcript I'm afraid they won't.

We would be very grateful for any advice or information!

    Hey
    Sorry I can't help ya!
I'm not sure but I was wondering the same thing!
Right now I'm in Penn Foster's Criminal Justice program and I definitely want to transfer to either TESC or COSC and I'm wondering how the Penn Foster credits will transfer to each school.....

Anyway how do you like Penn Foster? I'm just waiting for my last project in Courts to be graded and then I take my proctored tests for semester 1....so far I like!

You'd think that 200 level credits would be accepted as upper level, no matter where they come from. I'm sure if you called the school they'd be able to tell you for sure.

I'm not sure how exactly Penn Foster's credits will map to the TESC curriculum but 200-level is typically considered lower level. Luckily TESC doesn't have an upper level requirement, just a limit on credits that can be transferred from a 2-year school (80). With PF now offering 4-year degrees it'd be interesting to see if you can transfer all coursework from there to TESC. Please keep us informed...

Brian, thank you!! Just to clarify, are you stating that there is no requirement to have any upper level courses in the Criminal Justice area of study? I really appreciate your help!

It was so encouraging to hear you like the Penn Foster CJ classes! My daughter hasn't started her Criminal Justice classes through them yet but she earned a catering diploma through Penn Foster and she absolutely loved it. Good luck on your finals!
