    Default Excelsior Math Requirement

New guy here, taking my first CLEPS tests next Monday (A. and I. Lit. and American Government).

I'm considering earning a BS in Business Administration (maybe Operations Management or HR Management) due to my 22 years experience in manufacturing, the last 10 years or so as a Team Leader/Production Supervisor). Currently laid off .

Anyway, I'm a little confused reading Excelsiors PDF on the math requirement. It says Precalculus or higher, but lists College Algebra, Precalculus, and Calculus in the accepted proficiency exams list.

So would College Algebra take care of the math for the BSBA i'm interested in? I hate Calculus.

For EC BSBA, the College Algebra CLEP will satisfy the math requirement, but the College Algebra DSST will not.

You could take one of the aleks math classes.

I believe EC will accept beginning algebra for this requirement.

Great! Thanks for the help!!! Of course, I hate Algebra also, but you gotta do what you gotta do. I did take Trig. w/Precalculus back in my stone age high school days, and actually did pretty well.

I've got 6 CLEP and DSST's scheduled in the next 30 days. After that I guess I'll go ahead and schedule the College Algebra.

    Default Don't Forget about Statistics

    Hi,
I might be wrong, but if you are going for the BSBA thru Excelsior, I think you are also going to need Statistics. Just double check on that to make sure. If you do need it, then the DSST Statistic exam should cover the requirement.

Yea, I do have to take the DSST Statistics also, and I've heard that is a tough subject to pass. Right now I'm just trying to rack up some credits in the easier stuff before I start hitting the core requirements because I might change my mind for a major.
