Question Mathematics for Business Analysis at LSU - Art/Sci or Applied Prof. at EC?

Does anyone know (or can make an educated guess) if the following course through Louisiana State distance would count as an ARTS & SCIENCES course or an APPLIED PROFESSIONAL course at Excelsior?

    Mathematics for Business Analysis

The text used for the course is "Finite Mathematics and Calculus with Applications" and the course content sheet list only math-sounding topics, nothing that really screams "business!"

So it seems like really a math class (which would be Art/Sci), but the title makes it sound like Applied Professional.

(I'm trying to make sure I don't go over 60 applied professional credits for the BLS degree!)

    Thanks!

I would guess it would be considered a Math so it would fall under the arts & sciences. If you send off an email to your advisor they should be able to give you a quick answer. I would suggest that you get it approved before you take it anyway, so you can take care of both things at one time. Some things I thought would fall under the art & sciences EC considers Applied Prof. ie: accounting, Here's To Your Health, Substance Abuse, Clinical Mathmatics for nurses to name a few. So before you invest money I would just shoot off a quick email. I usually get a response to these types of questions within 48 hrs.

    Thanks!

I was surprised that Technical Writing falls under Arts & Sciences -- I would have thought that was Applied Professional, for sure!

Another suggestion is that I know in the past I saw a chart in the EC catalog that listed the CLEP / DSST exams and it showed how they would most likely apply. It may give you some guidance when looking at similar courses at other schools. Of course keep in mind that how one "school / degree" at EC applies a credit isn't necessarily how another "school/ degree" at EC will apply it.
