Hi,
I'm a returning student to ASU and needed to take care of some general studies requirements so I could focus on my core degree requirements. Anyhow, it was a long day today and I don't know if I can recommend taking two CLEPs in a day. I feel pretty burnt out, but my main reasoning for doing it was that all my fall classes have started, so I figured I'd take my chances now, otherwise I'd have to hold out till Christmas break. I took the Intro to Sociology Exam at 9AM MST and the exam was pretty straight forward. I used the REA and the Flash cards to study with, and was averaging on the REA about a 68-69 before I took the actual test. My CLEP score was a 63, I felt pretty prepared for this test and knew if I could pass only one test, this would be the one I wanted to pass. The Macro Economic Exam was at 1PM MST, so I spent most of the time in between tests studying the REA. For macroeconomics this was my sole source of study material and I really didn't prepare well for the test. Going into the test my average REA score was 42. Furthermore, I made a big mistake during the second test which was not eating all day, by 2pm I started getting a headache while I was taking the test, but worked my way through it. Anyhow, I scored a 51 on the CLEP, so I barely passed, but I'll take it. My only tip on this test is to really sit back and read the questions, most of the time if you understand Macroeconomic fundamentals; GDP, Inflation, Recession, what the Fed can do to control the market and the various economic theories; you can narrow everything down to 2 answers, giving you a 50/50 shot. ![]() |

Hello all,
Just wanted to say I took my first CLEP test today. It was Humanities. I passed it with a 50. I was so relieved, sure I would have liked to have received an higher score but the main thing was I passed. I study the flash cards on this site and the official CLEP book and took the tests on the CLEP website. I have no advice to anyone except study study and study. Hardly no music was on my test. Mostly poetry and stories. A few paintings and sculptures. I tried to make an educated guess on several things though. This CLEP is no joke for me anyway. This is such a broad subject. Thank you everyone for all the little tips and info yo have all posted on here I really appreciated it. Now on to my math CLEP. Good luck to everyone CLEPing. |

Hello all,
I took the Humanities CLEP today and passed with nothing to spare a 50 but hey I passed and I will take it. I studied the flashcards on here and the official study guide too. This test was difficult for me because I hate and I do mean hate humanities. I wish you all the best when taking this test. Thank you everyone that posted things about the test I really appreciate it all. |
