Congratulations on passing Biology Avery, and thank you for your feedback too. Eight credits for one exam must feel WONDERFUL!!!
How did you prepare for the exam? Do you have any additional advice to share with us? What do you plan on taking next? Well done, Snazzlefrag

I hit it hard, for about two weeks. Last Sunday through Wednesday (yesterday), I studied for about 12 to 16 hours a day. I do NOT reccomend this approach. These were my tools: 1. VIDEOS: Watched two DVDs. The Standard Deviants' one was excruciatingly annoying, but very helpful. 2. TEXTBOOK: I bought a used 1200 page Biology textbook that I only ended up using for the chapter on heredity. 3. SELF-TEACHING GUIDES: Checked out three self-teaching guides from the library. Made it through most of the first one, one small chapter on ecology in the second, and didn't even read one page from the third. 4. CRAM GUIDES: Checked out a Schaum's Easy Outline and read it from cover to cover. It was only 147 pages. Bought a Cliff's QuickReview and didn't even read a page. 5. WWW: Surfed websites mentioned by learningasIgo in a post to another thread. That post and others were a big help in deciding which topics to study and how much study energy/time to apply to each one. 6. INSTANTCERT FLASHCARDS: Studied all of the Biology sections (except for the four listed below) for hours and hours. Probably averaged three trips through each of the 12 sections I got through. This is were I spent the majority of my study time. Didn't get around to these last four sections: Principles of Ecology Part 2 [33 Questions] Principles of Evolution [88 Questions] Principles of Behavior [33 Questions] Social Biology [38 Questions] I almost forgot, yesterday morning I took the practice test in the 15th edition (2003) of the College Board's "Official Study Guide" to measure my progress. I got about 70% of the questions correct. I had a copy of the 17th edition (2005 ) as well, but didn't have time to take that practice test today, as I had planned. Hope this helps, Avery |

So, I think it's safe to say you did study for this one!
Thanks Avery, your feedback was excellent and very helpful. I am contemplating taking this one at some point in the not too distant future. We'll see! Thanks again, Snazzlefrag

Took Principles of Management yesterday and passed with a 64!
Pretty easy test, if you ask me. I used Instacert and the Comex book as my only study materials. The two overlapped so it was good to have the repetition and get all the material to really sink in. Easy 3 credits. Yea! |

Took the HG&D today and scored a 66. I used IC,peterson practice test and College board study guide. Most was pretty straight forward from IC. Some were fuzzy but its more then enough to pass with IC alone.
I need one more LL test. Which one...Intro Phychology....orrrrrr......Educational phychology? (I have already taken Intro Sociology) -Magic ![]() Last edited by MagicATC : 08-18-2006 at 12:46 PM. |

New to posting, have been reading for a little while. Here are my scores so far...Took the Algebra and Western Civ tests first, after that figured out how to study for the tests, the scores improved. No complaints they are all passing grades. My school doesn't give letter grades for them anyway. I very happy I found IC and this forum, it has made studying and gaining insight from everyone has been a great help, Thanks to All!!!

Congrats on your exam!! I have taken both Psych and Ed Psych and my suggestion would be Psych as it will blend well with what you already learned from Soc - GOOD LUCK!!
