Talking Got an "A" on Drug & Alcohol Abuse!!!!

Not sure what the exact score was but the woman at Excelsior looked it up and whispered I got the A. I don't understand why they just don't tell you straight out, it's like its a secret or something. They were the ones who sent me an e-mail stating they received another transcript in. The score's not listed so I have to call and beg them to tell me if I passed or not. I still haven't received the official paper score on tests I was told I passed two weeks ago, it's now been over two months since I took them!

Info all, I used only IC and studied about 2 hours a day for 1 week. I actually found it very interesting and felt great as I left the test center. It was nice to feel good about one for a change. I think I'd rather take an arse kicking than study for these next tests.

    Wannabeit,
I feel your pain as I very recently failed one, trust me, you will feel much better to get a pass back under your belt. Stick with it and good luck on your next test!

    Default I feel ripped off.

Geez, do I feel ripped off by Excelsior.

I enrolled in the Information Literacy course tonight. 2 hours and 5 minutes later, I started the final. Finished the final in 18 minutes. 100%

$250.00 to take a class on information I already knew. Oh well, it's a requirement and it's out of the way now.

The only other class that is listed as an equivalent in the 'course search' is double the price for the same one credit...

Congrats on filling the requirement though. One less thing in the way. I'm sitting on seven FEMA credits waiting to see how many odd credits I need. For one or two I'll just pay and at three I'll find a CLEP or DSST. Some days though I think how much easier it would be to pay the fee and take the credits...

Thats the reason why I haven't enrolled in the class. I don't feel like throwing $250 down the rat hole. But, like you said, its one requirement that would be out of the way..

Heeeeeeeey! I took Info Lit last November and it cost me $260 dollars.

I too was able to complete the course from initial registration and paying of the fees, to passing the exam and receiving my final score, within a few hours.

I can't be too mad at them for charging me $260 though. Excelsior is enabling me to save me thousands and thousands of dollars in fees and costs etc., that I would have had to pay if I had gone the traditional route.

It's an inconvenience, it's frustrating, and it's an outrageous price for such a simple 1-credit course. But hey! My entire degree will cost me less than $5,000, instead of $30,000+. So I still think I am way ahead of the game.

Many schools charge $260 for EVERY SINGLE credit you earn towards your degree. Things could be a lot worse for us!

So....we pay the outrageous fee, ace the silly exam, take our useless single credit, bitch and moan about it for a while, and then we move on towards our goal.

It's worth it in the big scheme of things,

No, I can't complain, especially when the private university in my town charges over $28,000 per year! And also when this is going to be the only credit that I'll have to pay for directly out of my pocket.

    Default On top of that

It will ease the guilt I feel for getting 6 credits on the Analyzing Lit CLEP after studying for .... well not too many minutes.

    Hello all,

Just wanted to start off by thanking everyone for all their posts as the insight provided has been of tremendous help in my quest to clep. With that said, I have taken four clep tests in the last week. The scores were as following: Intro to Comp: 51, Prin of Marketing 64, Prin of Management 77 and A&I Lit 67. For all of the tests I only used IC (except for A&I of course) with less than four hours of studying each.

I look forward to reporting more success in the next week.

    Thank you for your help,

    -J
