Default Principles of Management and Supervision

For those have taken both the CLEP Principles of Management and DANTES Principles of Supervision, how much overlap and redundency is there between the two i.e. If you are prepared for Management, take it and pass, is it fair to say you could pass Supervision as well only using the DSST Handbook and IC?

I am planning to take these two and then Organizational Behavior, Intro to Business, and Principles of Marketing. I am trying to group together closely related exams.

My plan is to schedule Management first, and then schedule Supervision the following week, using the time in between to syudy the Supervision IC flashcards and handbook. Does this sound like a good approach?

Any advice would be much appreciated...

    B2,

I personally think your plan is EXCELLENT and is the way to go. If you take Principles of Management first, you will barely need to study for Principles of Supervision...there is that much overlap (having said that, you should still do some light review ). And yes, the DSST handbook and IC is all you need for both of those exams.

Good luck, and let us know how you do!

Thanks for the reply. I've also got the Comex book for Management, and I work in the field, so I feel pretty confident about these. I had always heard there was a significant amount of overlap between the two, but wanted to verify it before I executed my study plan.

    Thanks again for the reply!!!!

Use the IC study material for Principles of Management, and it will easily be enough to pass Principles of Supervision. It sounds like your plan is sound. Study IC hard for one week and then take them together. Intro to business is REALLY easy if you have some business classes under your belt. I didn't study AT ALL and passed with an A. Organizational behavior can be more difficult, but still doable with IC alone. I don't know about Marketing, but I would guess that it's not too terribly difficult.

    Good luck!
