I just got off the phone with an advisor (Excelsior) and asked how long I had to wait to retake a CLEP, 60 days was the answer. I then proceeded to call CLEP and asked for their policy. I was told 6 Months …… but……If you are close to graduation or have some other “pressing” reason to take this exam before 6 months you need to petition CLEP:
You need to write them a letter stating your reasons And You need a letter from the registrar or academic dean on your behalf They will make exceptions to retake after 3 months. FYI

Thank you. Well, apparantly our appeal has to now be reivewed by a committee and they can take up to three weeks to make a decision. It's almost become a game.... so, we will wait. Regardless of the outcome, we made a strong petition. ACE and CLEP emailed me some information that is very helpful. As soon as we hear anything I'll let you know.

nat12137,
that is not true. once you fail a clep, you can re-take it but usually 6 months later. what is being discussed in this thread is under a certain circumstance. so don't worry, you can re-take the biology CLEP test if you fail it. =] |
