    G'day,

This was the one exam that caused me (and apparently many others) plenty of stress. It is passable but it is also a test that you want to go into well prepared. It is a test where you need to understand the theory/principles more than you need to be able to do the math. From memory most of the mathematics were pretty basic but you are allowed a non-graphing statistical calculator and I suggest you become quite intimate with that calculator. Even though the math may be basic if you know your calculator well it can save you some time and uncertainty.

I did post a review when I had just completed the exam and the info was fresh. If you wish to read it you can find it here http://www.instantcertonline.com....

I hope this is of some help

    Regards

This test is a bear. Understanding the material, rather than just memorizing it, is key.

    Default Statistics

Search these posts for information on resources. I watched the videos on Teacher Resources by Annenberg Media "Against all odds,Inside Statistics". (Its free to use) I picked up a book called "Statistics for utterly confused" and used Instantcert. I managed to pass it and I am mathphobic. As a bonus I have somewhat of a clue what Charlie is talking about when he goes on a math rant on the tv show "numbers".

    Thanks a lot.
I was wondering if there will be many theory questions, because I am a mathphobic too and maybe they will help me get extra points.
I am using Cliff notes review and Instantcert and those videos.

Do a forum search on calculators. Its important that you have a calculator that can perform two-variable statistic functions. You want to be able to do correlation, regression, and standard deviation. I used the TI-36X. My calculator proved invaluable during this exam.

I didn't use the Cliff Notes so I can't comment, but I did use the 'Statistics Workbook for Dummies' (note: not the 'Statistics for Dummies'). The workbook also helped a lot.

I am confused as to what exactly you mean by theory questions. The test is more about concepts and applying them, then doing actual number crunching if thats what you mean.
