Default Banner day at the testing center!

So I didn't mention much about this on the board because I didn't want to jinx myself, but I set out yesterday to take the CLEP A&I and Psych tests and the DSST Principles of Supervision test. I was performing horribly on all the Psych sample tests--best score I got was 59. Took the real thing yesterday and got a 73. See Snazzlefrag's post for test content (where for art thou, Snazzlefrag?). The Peterson tests are WAY off on this one, but, using only IC, Petersons and CLEP sample tests and some Wikipedia I was obviously prepared and had no prior Psych experience other than passing the Sociology test.

Then I went to lunch and came back to tackle A&I Lit. There were some very tough passages in there and only a few questions with literary terms (alliteration was one of them). I really didn't know if I had done well enough to pass, so I was thrilled when a 61 popped up. The only study I did was take all the sample tests. Petersons were very helpful here. I passed all the samples I took on this one.

One more to go. Principles of Supervision had a few questions that came out of left field but otherwise was fine and I got a 67 using primarily the DSST study materials and a little IC--along with the Petersons tests.

As that test was winding down I started to think about asking to try another. I hadn't prepared for anything else, but hey--I was on a roll! I asked the proctor if I could take the Fundamentals of Counseling test--promising I would only take an hour. He agreed and off I went. This was the first test I took with absolutely zero preparation. I benefited from my psych study on about 10-12 questions and common sense helped too. By my rough calculation, I thought I had passed it by one point. I went over my answers one more time and hit the button.........

PASS! A 58! My lowest score so far, but still an A from Excelsior! That makes it...let's see... three plus six is nine...plus three is twelve...plus three is.................15 credits! A semester in a day! Wooooohooooo!!!!!!! This is livin'!

Anyway--just wanted to share. That was some kinda fun right there.

WOW, quite impressive indeed. I've always wanted to take a test just at random without studying for it. Congratulations!

Holy cripes! Way to go!! You did awesome!! Thanks for the heads up on A&I. I am looking to take this one soon. From what I've read, it's not too bad of an exam, and a beautiful 6 credits! I am studying to take Humanities at the moment, and have a goal of taking it in May, but I was wondering how I would do if I just took it cold with no study. Guess I'm not that brave. That's great that you were able to score well on an exam you had no preparation for. Congratulations!!! You must be thrilled!
