Default Failed what was supposed to be the easiest exam of all...

I studied and studied for the DSST Here's to Your Health for weeks and yet I failed it during examination time. Even the proctors said that test was easy and no one had ever fail it over at their center. Well anyways, I sat down.. answered all the questions and found out that I failed miserably. Wasn't even close to 48.

Well anyways I was scheduled to take 2 DSSTs yesterday and man was I discouraged after taking the first one. I was saying to myself, "How the hell am I going to pass the 2nd DSST" which was Intro to Computing which I have not studied at all for. Well I swiftly answered all the questions in 45 mins and did not even wanted to review the answers as I was already mad at myself for bombing the first one... I hit NEXT to see my grade and I got a 58. lol

So a FAIL and a PASS on the same day

Congratulations on your pass. If nothing else, you were exposed to the exam you failed so that you can ensure you will pass the second time. The important thing is to dust yourself off and keep going. I am proud of you for still attempting the second one when most would have given up and left.

    Default Don't feel bad

    Hey,

I took 2 clep exams yesterday: One was supposed to be intro to psych and which the test administrator actually put in as intro to educational psych and my second test was principles of management.

So I took the first clep exam thinking it was the right one and I completely bomb it, as I didn't know about half the concepts they were talking about, so I was all pissed and discouraged as I studied for intro to psych for like 12 hours, and I just blow through principles of management in 30 mins, and I didn't even want to review, so I press submit score and I pass. How crazy is that?

My best advice to give would be don't second guess yourself and always stick with your original answer as most times that is the right one.

I'd say to shrug it off and forget about it...

But thats cash out of your pocket that wasn't your fault. I would go talk to the site that administered the test. If they stonewall you get ahold of the people at Collegeboard.

You spent cash and someone else screwed up. You were supposed to be taking Intro to Psychology, and the test administrator didn't do their job right. If I were you I'd be demanding a crack at Intro to Psychology with no cost. It would probably be to much of a stretch to have the Educational Psychology wiped, but as to getitng the proper one it shouldn't be.

You paid good money, you studied for the right exam, and they gave you the wrong one. Its also your first CLEP, so no offense, and you really didn't know better with all the anxiety you must have been feeling.

Get the Intro to Psych for FREE, or at least raise all sorts of hell trying.

I totally agree. It wasn't your fault that you failed the exam. I would fight this starting with the place you took the test...and yes, you definitely should be able to take the test for free since it was THEIR mistake. Please don't let this just slide by without at least trying to take the RIGHT exam that you studied so hard for. You got a bum rap, and I have a feeling that you are not the only person this has ever happened to. You have a right to take the correct exam at the very least.

also, why does this Proctor say that the Health exam is the easiest and that no one has ever failed? If you read through this forum you will see that every exam is different for everyone. Some pass an exam some fail it, all depends on the individual not on the exam, that would be very misleading.

Hang in there, it is just a lesson learnt!

ceekay84, try not get too hard on yourself. I too failed what was supposedly an easy test "Analyzing Literature". Sometime we take things for granted. I know I did. Keep your head up and you will be ok.

i agree with Bella - your proctor should have never told you that no one has failed that test...that's just really unprofessional. but hey, you passed a test that's supposedly harder (it's all relative) so you should give yourself a pat on the back for a job well done =] congrats on the pass!

Are there any other easy CLEPs or DSSTs I should take?

Try intro to Sociology, I would not say it's very easy what I would say is it is ok, Here is to your health was my first Exam ever and I passed it by two points.
I think when people say it's easy this is very relative, someone told me Foundations of Education was easy so I rushed through it and went to write the exam, I was wrong, Just like here's to your Health I barely passed this exam, I passed it by one point.
So I have told my self just to prepare a bit more no matter what.

With Intro to Sociology IC and Peterson's test are enough

All the best and congrates on your pass
