Default Anyone for NY Language Exam?

Has anyone out there ever taken a NY Language Exam? A little different than CLEPs or DANTES, I've heard. From what I understand, NY Language Exams are for those atypical collge langage course (i.e. Chinese, Arabic, etc.). The three portions to the test are reading, writing and listening, and one may earn 6-16 (???) credits. Anybody with experience?

Cool Languagetesting.com is a better option for College Credits

Their program is a lot simpler and you can get U/L and L/L credits!

You can earn more credits (16) with the NYU exam with the first 12 being lower level, and four being upper level credits. If you are a native speaker of the language you are taking, it would be an easy 16 credits. For anyone else the exam would be very challenging, as it requires knowledge of advanced vocabulary and grammar. You need to be very comfortable writing essay-style as well as translating. What language are you considering?

    Question Language Interest/Passions

Great info on NY Language Exams...helps to get different options. As far as my language interests, they are Middle Eastern languages, Arabic spec., and Spanish...odd combo I know. Anybody else out there with similar interests/passions?

Glad to know there is such a diversity of interest out there! Any suggestions for study material? Got Rosetta Stone (familiar?). However, I'm not sure if the two levels of RS will be enough to get me 16 hours of credit from NY Language Exam. What about vocabulary and advanced grammer/language machanics??? Ideas/suggestions/comments are welcome!!
