    - It is TWO ESSAYS in 90 minutes. It is recommended to use 45 minutes per essay, but it is a blanket time for both essays. I used 55 minutes for my first essay and the rest for my second.

    - The first essay has to do with poetry. I was asked to analyze a poem on love by a famous "poetress". The second is a question requiring you to write on a reputed literary work that you have read.

    - The essay is scored by the university that requests it, not ETS.

    - Don't be scared by this exam, but I would recommend taking it after English Comp with essay or Humanities if you know that you must all of them.

My Glitch: After taking several CLEP exams, one would assume that he is finally immune to making "stupid mistakes" with the testing software. Alas, I was on my second to last question in the multiple choice section, and I accidentally pushed the "ahead" icon too many times, ending the exam with probably 5 questions unanswered. I thought I either failed or passed by the skin of my teeth. I cannot express the utter joy when a 62 was unveiled on the screen. I felt very good about the essays, and am eagerly awaiting the results. We'll see.

Best wishes to anyone that has to take the essay section, and I hope some of this information can help you!

I am also required to take that test for college, with the essay-do you have any tips or advice on how to do well on the essay part of the exam
