    Default question about sociology

How much do I have to know about the various people on the sociology clep such as Durkheim, Weber, Marx etc.

I have most of the IC down, but I am having trouble remembering what guys did what etc.

    Thanks

I assume this was the computer based version?

The place i go to has the computer based testing. Not sure if the tests vary from written to computer, but just wondering.

did you only use IC to study?

I remember having to know a lot of names when I took this test. I didn't know about IC then. I just used the COMEX book to study. ( which is like a subject review book). I know there are different versions of each clep test. so different people taking the same test might be taking the different versions. so just to be safe. I'd get a grasp on the people and what they believed, what theories they came up with etc...
you'll do great, just do your best

this was the first clep I took and I was upset that it didn't have more questions on people and what they believed. but since the tests vary I can't say that you shouldn't get them down, but get their main beliefs and what they would be likely to think because that is about as in-depth as the questions get when it comes to the people.

Know the people and what they did (ie Durkheim-Suicide, etc.)!!! Here is my review posted after I took the test with no prior knowledge, only 4 days of study, and a score of 72. If me and my unintellectual self can do it, you should have no problem. However, make sure you don't underestimate this one, either.

This test can be very enjoyable, as it is very basic, simple knowledge of sociology and is a great stepping stone to the Am Gov, Mgmt, and Marketing exams! Best wishes of success to you!
