    Default post your degree plan

I know it would help me and maybe others if some of you would be willing to post (upload as an attachment?) your degree plan...what courses you have or are planning to take.

In particular I would like to see one for undergrad degrees from Excelsior (or TESC) in:
    Business - General Management
    English
    Accounting

    THANKS!

My major is the BS in Accounting.

I started with 49 credits earned elsewhere which included
    Eng 101
    Calculus I
    Calculus II
    Calculus III
    American History to 1865
    Development of World Civilizations
    Theatre Appreciation
    Cultural Anthropology
The rest of the 49 credits were applied professional and business electives.

The following are the tests I completed to earn more credits for the degree.
    CLEPS
    Humanities
    Natural Sciences
    Social Science and History
    Principles of Microeconomics
    Principles of Macroeconomics
    American Government
Principles of Accounting (while it still counted for 6 credits)
    Principles of Marketing
    Principles of Management
    Introductory Business Law

    DSST
    Ethics in America
    Principles of Statistics
    Principles of Finance
    Organizational Behaviour

    TECEP
    Production and Operations Management

    Courses that I have taken
    Excelsior
    Information Literacy

    Independent Study at LSU
    Intermediate Accounting I
    Intermediate Accounting II
    Income Tax Accounting
    Cost Management (enrolled)
    Auditing (enrolled)

    Adams State College
    Business Policy

I may have to take one additional course after all of this, but I believe that covers it.

Default Ask and you shall receive

Attached please find one (1) genuine, freshly-made, one-of-a-kind, sanitized, certified and approved Bachelors in General Business degree plan for Excelsior College. The items in red and italics are my remaining requirements. Items in black are completed. I actually have a second degree plan which includes 12 humanities credits (Arts and Science) in place of many of the gov't and history exams, but I figured this one would likely help more people. I, like many on the board, have old college credits, and those marked COC are new community college credits (College of the Canyons). The items listed below the chart are my categorizations for study grouping.

It looks different in every version of Excel so make sure all the boxes appear complete. You can tell because the first number next to each test/class is the number of units--and they should all add up based on the category they're in. Check it out and see what you think.

**I've updated my degree plan since I originally posted it so now the formatting is a little better and there's no more red!

    Default openoffice

Thanks everyone for the work of sharing and posting your degree plans. Please keep 'em coming. I think many will benefit. Still looking for a plan for an English major (for a friend).

Lest some of you struggle with opening the attachments (excel spreadsheets, etcl.) please remember there is a resource at

OpenOffice.org: Home - not .com - that will allow you to open MS Office type documents.

Whoa, Barcotta!!! Am I missing something, but....does Excelsior not require at least Pre-Calculus level math?!! Am I misreading your spreadsheet?? I'm not holding my breath....but, if there's any way to get out of Pre-Calculus.....all I can say is 'Hallelujah!!'

    Matymus,

Excelsior does require Pre-Calculus math for the BUSINESS degree, but not the LIBERAL ARTS degree. The CLEP College Algebra exam will take care of the Pre-calc math requirement, or any approved College Algebra class.

    Hope that helps!

    Pitbull,

The DSST "Intro to Computing" exam is an elective that many people choose because it not difficult for most people.

The CLEP "Information Systems & Computer Applications" exam is the one that meets the business degree requirement for Computers.

    Hope that helps.
