Off Topic, I know--I'll move it soon!
Several people have pushed the idea of starting a Myspace page for InstantCert. Anyone out there want to volunteer to take charge of this and make it happen? I don't have much experience with MySpace; I have no idea what a company page on myspace would look like, and what it would accomplish. If this is something you'd be interested in doing--creating the account, putting together the page, and anything else involved, please post a response here or send me a PM. Please include a few details indicating why you would be able to do a good job. Obviously, the page needs to communicate a good/professional impression of InstantCert. Hypothetically, once this page is done, we'll poll the members of this forum to see what everyone thinks and possibly implement some suggestions, changes, etc..

Steve,
I can at least get it started by setting up an account. Just let me know what Username you'd like it to have. Also, if you have a jpg of the IC logo or something you could email me as an attachment, I could add that, among other things. I've got a page & I'm constantly adding to it. Just send me a PM when you get this.

Steve....I was just looking at the TERMS on MySpace. Check this out:
Non-commercial Use by Members. The MySpace Services are for the personal use of Members only and may not be used in connection with any commercial endeavors except those that are specifically endorsed or approved by MySpace.com. Illegal and/or unauthorized use of the MySpace Services, including collecting usernames and/or email addresses of Members by electronic or other means for the purpose of sending unsolicited email or unauthorized framing of or linking to the MySpace Website is prohibited. Commercial advertisements, affiliate links, and other forms of solicitation may be removed from Member profiles without notice and may result in termination of Membership privileges. Appropriate legal action will be taken for any illegal or unauthorized use of the MySpace Services. So....I think MySpace is out in that regard. You may want to see if you can advertise on MySpace. That may be an option. Here's a link to contact somebody regarding advertising: MySpace I hope that helps.

It's going to be a pretty unofficial endeavor and we're not going to be using it for any mass-marketing/spamming/emailing anyone, etc.. so I don't think it's going to draw any attention from the myspace authorities. I feel like I've seen organizations use myspace on a small, unofficial level.
Anyone interested in taking on this project? Anyone? If not, I will just add it to my list of "nice to dos" sometime in the future.......

Honestly, I am intrigued not by the idea of advertising via myspace, but was thinking it could potentially be a tool for extending the feeling of community we've started here via the forum. I'm guessing a lot more people here are on myspace vs. facebook...... What do you think?

I'd probably agree that there are many more people on MySpace. Although, if you are wanting to somehow try & advertise....Facebook might be a better option if it is truly geared more toward college students. I don't know anything about Facebook, but who knows...it may actually be worth looking into.
