I took what seemed like a lot of tests this past month and got results which mean I will graduate in July with Excelsior BSL degree: Area of Focus in Psychology; Area of Focus in Art:
DSST Drug & Alcohol: 73 ECE Abnormal Psych 86 (this is average of grades of 3 separate test sections) INL 102 (Information Literacy) 100 (not too much of a challenge) AND the one I lost sleep over literally: DSST Statistics 70: I believed in my heart that I'd failed. Had no connection in my heart or mind to this score when I left the test site. These are all "A"s -- however, of course the one thing I thought would be a total piece of cake for me, ECE "College Writing"; I got a B in. Don't know numerical score. Definitely know MLA citation if you take this one. That's it, I'm done, now I can stay in grad school! If I'd failed that statistics test, Capella would have disenrolled me, and my Capella masters program "A' s" would magically turn to "F"s at midnight. Best of luck to you-all!!! THANKS INCERT!!!!!!!! |

Congratulations on slaying the unholy beast. I thought I barely passed Statistics and scored an 80. I'm glad you get to stay in grad school, and your grades aren't pulling a Cinderella. What grad school at Capella are you enrolled in, and how far along are you?

I've been enrolled in Capella's School of Human Resources and am going for a Masters in Counseling -- I gambled that I'd be able to finish up with Excelsior within the 90 days they give you to come up with completed transcript in order to stay enrolled -- But at the time had no idea how the statistical beast would follow me in my dreams....
So I left DSST Statistics for last -- and prepared as well as I could considering I look at a calculator and just shake my head in dismay, work fulltime, have been taking 2 Masters level classes and preparing for 5 exams. All I can say is I'm glad it's over. I had the statistics results fedexed to Excelsior (DSST couldn't tell me over the phone), and when I made the phone call to find out my hand was shaking. My exact words were "Did I pass that flippin' test?" The woman said "Yes, you passed," and I thought to myself; "Hmmnnn, she sounds awfully cheerful. Probably a sadist". When she told me I got a 70 and I got off the phone, I started crying. Couldn't help it. Just a lot of crap around that test. I'm just happy to be a member of this club and be able to go on with the masters program.... Thanks you-all Best wishes, Barbara |
