Question computing the score... so confused!

This is probably going to sound like a dumb question to those of you that have taken a bunch of these tests... but please be patient, I'm new

I'm taking the intro to soc clep tomorrow, and I've taken the Peterson's practice test. But, what score do I need to pass. I keep seeing things talking about some scaled scores between 20 and 80 and I think I need a 50 to pass. How do I figure out this score?? For example, if I answered 70 questions right in the Peterson's practice test, does that mean it was a passing grade.

    Does this even make sense???

    Help, please

The tests are designed so that if you can answer 50% of the questions correctly you would pass. However, that is not always the case because of the methodology of the scoring. But, if you are able to answer a little over half the questions correctly, then you should pass. If you are scoring 70% on your petersons practice exams, then you are probably ready to take the exam.
