Let's see if I can remember some of the details of the test. Don't quote me on this, but I seem to remember quite a few questions regarding the rebuilding process after the civil war...the treatment of slaves afterward, formation of the KKK, etc. There was also quite a few questions regarding WWI - actions of Pres. Teddy Roosevelt, as well as WWII - FDR's New Deal. You'll want to know some of the main points regarding the underlying reasons for both Korean & Vietnam War and the leaders. This may all sound vague, and I apologize, but that's what I remember. :-) I think if you have a good understanding of the above-I think you'll do fine.

No, the KKK wasn't formed in Europe. Rescheduling your exam won't hurt.
I know that there is quite a bit to this test. If you don't enjoy history, you may have a difficult time. I thoroughly enjoyed studying for the Western Civ & US History exams.
