I found those Dummies books on Art, Music, etc really filled in the gaps. I also read Humanities in Western Culture 1 and 2 which I have if you're interested, but I think the Idiots and Dummies books will do the trick.

I also found the CLEP review book very helpful. I made sure I really understood every question and googled everything I didn't understand.
