It is 6 credits. The difficulty really depends on your understanding of history. For example, I took Western Civ 1 & 2, then US History 1 & 2 in that specific order. Then I spent only a couple hours on IC, then went to take the exam. So...after those others, the Soc. Sciences & History was a cakewalk for me at that point.

In which college are you enrolled? Unless you are EC, TESC, or CO, you might want to check with you college to make sure they grant 6 credits for History and Social Sciences. ACE RECOMMENDS 6 credits, but each college/university makes their own policy.
For Example: I recently took the A&I Literature exam that everyone raves is an easy 6 credits for a 1 1/2 hour exam. My university only grants 3 credits for the exam and requires the essay version (boosting it to a 3 hour exam and making it much more stressful). Oh, well!Just some food for thought!

I'm in EC...I got 3 credits for the exam, I think....but, the exam itself is a 6 credit exam. I hope that clarifies a bit better.
