    Default FEMA Credits

Those who have succesfully taken FEMA courses, is it actually possible to take the final exams of each course online, or do you truly have to print them out & snail-mail them??

You do all of them online.

I print out the exam and then bring up the course in either Adobe or MS Word. As I go through the exam questions on paper, I do key word searches in the course document to find the answer. I can finish the shorter exams in about 20 minutes and the longer ones in about a hour. Then I take my answers on the paper exam and transfer them to the online input exam. About 2 minutes later you get an e-mail that lets you know if you passed or not. If not...try again as many times as necessary.

Keep track of which exams you took.

Do you have a link I can use to do it online?? I can't seem to find anywhere to do it online. Also, do you actually read through the units, or do you just go directly to the final exam??

Just go directly to the final exam and search the entire course file. Some courses are in one big file. Others are broken up into 7 or 8 files (which makes it a pain to search for the answers). You'll see what I'm talking about when you start pulling up each course.

Also, pay attention to those course numbers that mapalo listed. You don't want to waste your time on courses that do not count.

Does it cost anything to take the FEMA courses? How long do they keep the records on file? I am interested in finding out more about these and which ones I could take towards my degree. Do they only count as free electives? Can you take a bunch and then some other time in the future submit them to Thomas Edison to get the credit?

Any information somebody has or could point me to would be greatly appreciated.

it does not cost anything to take FEMA credits, but your time, The costs come in when evaluting the Course because schools like EC do not take raw FEMA credits.
IF you are not a TESC student you can apply for a credit Banking and send your credits there for Evalution the fee is about $300 plus, but not more than $400 and this is if you are taking many course, but if you do only one or few credit the other option is better, which I don't have much info on, but if you do a search on this Forum, will be able to get almost all the answers you need to know about FEMA.

Also depending on what degree you are enrolled in the FEMA credits from what I understand can be used for more than electives. I am enrolled in the Business Degree at EC, so I could only do 15 which went to my free electives.
    Hope this helps
Do a search and you will find great Info

So, if I went and took 6 FEMA courses (assuming they were all accepted by TESC), I could wait, say, 6 months to get them transcripted into actual credits?

Basically, like I'm doing with my CLEP credits. Taking most of the tests before I enroll with TESC.

    Is that possible?
    Thanks!

Quick question....I took a FEMA exam about an hour ago...it's now 8:30pm. I haven't gotten an email stating I passed or anything. Snazz said it would only take a few minutes. Does anybody know if their system shuts down after-hours??
