    Default EC evaluation questions

I got my unoffcial eval today. I am going for BS Business at EC.

It is broken down into very generic terms. I still need alot of credits. Since this is the unofficial eval is there a more in depth or "official" evaluation that is sent to me later? Perhaps showing what credits they used toward my degree? How can I submit a plan to a advisor for approval on what exams I can take?

For business i need to do all the core business stuff plus , micro, macro, statistics etc. and still alot of Arts and sciences credits.

On the eval it says i need to satisy the written english requirement? what satisfies the written english requirement? Does this mean i have to do another english class? Because I already took english at the local CC.

    Thanks

    Pitbull,

Have you enrolled already? I know from personal experience that they paint an unofficial evaluation with a pretty wide brush. It was only after I enrolled, that I was able to say "What about this?" and "Why don't I get credit for that?".

When you apply, they pretty much throw your credits against the wall to see what sticks! OK... It's not really that bad... but they won't spend a whole lot of time on you until you enroll.

Once you enroll, they get down to business sorting your credits and taking care of details.

If you've already enrolled, then the advising team is at your service. But, you may want to wait until your are coming down the home stretch. It's cheaper that way.

    Pitbull30,
Excelsior are pretty good about allowing you to challenge or appeal credits.

But expect a better response and more info after you put your money down (enroll).

I think Kiwilover posted a file which shows the General Business program and how credits apply.

I have an MIS class and a C Programming class, but they course descriptions are similar. On my initial application they only counted one as credit, I appealed today, and now have an extra 3 credits! No problems...

It really helps to put the effort into reviewing the business catalog and deciphering all this for yourself, you can make the same judgments as the adviser once you understand it all.

    Good luck!

Once you enroll, then they're no longer ambiguous about what they accept. Imagine that....see what happens when $$ is tossed their way? Nah, really though...you will get an official evaluation once you actually enroll.

I got an extra 3 hours when I actually enrolled, they gave me credit for a course that was considered "redundant" on my unofficial evaluation. I didn't ask for it, I didn't expect it, it was just there. It was filler, but still 3 hours.

I got 8 extra credits when I enrolled, for some LOMA Insurance exams I took through a previous employer....only 3 exams. They were great!
