I may use the FEMA courses for fallback credit if I need them, but don't think at this point that I will need them. Max I would need is about 15.

Any chance you could rate them and show which ones were the easiest/quickest to complete???

Maybe a week? I did about 5 or 6 a day. Many of the courses only have 25 questions on the tests. I would pick those first. I don't have the info in front of me but you can look on FEMA's site to see which have the shorter tests.

I'm still waiting on my FEMA transcription from TESC. Let's see...I applied about a month ago. I was told 2 weeks ago that I was accepted as a credit banking 'student', and that I need to talk to the Registrar's office about how many credits they're giving me. I left a message for them almost 2 weeks ago...still have not received a call back. I called again this morning just as a reminder that somebody needs to call me. Oy vey...I'm so glad that I switched to EC for my degree...I can't handle this lag in response time.

Same here. I received a letter saying it would only take 1-2 weeks to transcribe. I called after 3 weeks and it ended up taking 6 weeks.

    I hate the waiting game.

Unfortunately these are not always in stock. I wish they would bittorrent them for download instead/in addition to mail. Even hosting them for direct d/l for broadband users.

Default are you using the credit bank method?

It sounds like you are using the TESC credit bank method to transfer those FEMA credits to EC. If this is the case, did you need to do anything besides register for the credit bank account at TESC then send the form to FEMA requesting transfer to TESC? Or, did you also have to ID all of the TESC equivalent courses in order to get an evaluation? Just wondering because I've been sitting on 15 FEMA 'credits' hoping for a cost effective was to convert into credits at Excelsior. I have read through all the related discussions about FEMA credits but haven't seen a solid confirmation on the TESC credit bank method.

    Ace...WELCOME!!!!

You have it exactly right. Open a TESC Credit Bank and have FEMA send TESC the FEMA transcript. You do not need to indicate the separate courses. Once TESC transcribes the FEMA credits, send the TESC transcript to EC. Done.

Greggy -- Thanks for the welcome and the great news about FEMA credit transfer. Makes the difference between spending $350 and $900 to be able to utlize those FEMA credits for electives. Now I just have to figure out which CLEPS or DSST test from my original plan I don't need to take as electives!
