Default Places to take a CLEP

Is it possible to take a CLEP out of state, or does is it have to be done in the state where you live?

    DixieGirl,

I don't see why it would matter what state you take the exam, because every testing center is using the same CLEP computerized system.

However, I don't know this for sure, so you might want to check it out directly with CollegeBoard.com: About the College Level Examination Program (CLEP).

I can't imagine it would matter. I live on the border of NH and MA, and I've taken DSSTs in both NH and MA. I don't think CLEP would be any different, as they're in theory administrated equally across all testing locations, and they are reported to an often out of State institution.

Yes, you can take them out of your "home" State or Commonwealth.
