I take my first DSST exam on World Religion Monday. I almost chickened out because it seems so hard to learn about so much. I have read many of the suggestions some have posted. I am primarly using IC and have a book with practice tests and plan on looking at one of the websites that were recommended. I hope I pass, because then I only have Into to computing then I am done with my Bachelor's Degree
Any extra advise would be appreciated. Thanks, Deb |

World Religions was my first DSST too and I was really nervous.
But! Two things to remember: First, you only have 4 choices to choose from instead of 5. This gives you a statistically better chance of getting the right answer. If you've done a lot of studying (and it sounds like you have), you don't need to worry. If you can do all the IC sections and only miss 4-5 on each section and if you've supplemented with other resources, you should be fine. Really!! If you haven't yet, go read the exam feedback for World Religions in the "Specific Feedback" section--that has some helpful hints on specific tidbits to know. I expected to get a score in the high 50s.....I got a 76. You can do it!!!!! |

Almost every question I knew something about, the hardest part was picking the most correct answer. You should probably make sure you can differentiate between the different sects of Buddhism and Hindiusm. Know what terms mean. IC seemed to cover almost everything on the test, but follow up with research that IC seems to leave out. For example, IC mentions the four vedas, but doesn't tell you what all of them are. You need to know this so make sure you expand on what's on IC. All I studied was IC and a website someone posted to a MCGRAW HILL textbook that had practices quizes and flashcards. I also took PASSBook for DANTES world religion book and took about half of the practice tests. The tests in it were much harder than the actual test though, so don't let that concern you if you have this book. Good Luck.
