    Thumbs up Introductory Psychology CLEP Feedback

    Hello all you exam-takers,

    I took Introductory Psychology CLEP today and I scored a 69.

    I studied for 1 week using IC Flashcards and I also googled the topics listed in the Specific Exam Feedback section of this forum. That's it.
    I felt like I knew the answers to the questions before I was even done reading the questions. I felt very prepared... maybe even over-prepared.

    I don't have a lot to add to the topics in the exam specific feedback section. They were spot-on. In fact, I feel that by using IC flashcards and the existing information in the exam specific section, I studied in the most effective and efficient manner that I could have during this last week.

    One thing that I did that I think you might find helpful would be to connect certain key figures to their theories in various ways. For example:

    John B. (as in behaviorist) Watson.
    B. (as in behaviorist) F. Skinner.
    Abra(HUManism) Maslow. (his first name is Abraham)

    Use your own creativity to make these connections:
    Solomon Asch = Social Conformity
    Erikson = Psychosocial Theory
    Rogers = Client-centered
    Operant Conditioning = learning from mistakes
    Kohlberg = Moral Development
    Ivan Pavlov = classical conditioning

    I could go on, but seriously... You don't need it. If you spend more than an hour a day for 1 week and you have a fairly decent grasp on the flashcards and the specific topics in the specific feedback section, you will DOMINATE the exam. ...That's all there really is to it.

    Be encouraged!!

    I got a 60 on the test this morning. Your thread was extremely helpful and your crucial identifying John B. Watson!! I can't believe I blanked on it. There were a few questions not in IC or PYC, but overall it was very basic. The flashcards in PYC were huge. If anyone needs them, shoot me a PM.
