    Default Standard Deviants - statistics

Has anyone used the Standard Deviants series to help study for statistics? Any thoughts about their usefulness? Thanks!

Yes and yes. Several have commented on its usefulness.

No need to be rude- I searched the archives before posting my question.

The newest thread about SD stat videos was from 2006 (until your post today). I'd like current feedback....which is why I posted the question. I see your post today had mention of the videos. Thanks.

    Thumbs up

I've taken the DSST Statistics and I used The Standard Deviants tapes for prep. They were very helpful and covered much of what is on the actual exam. Personally, I found the test much easier than what I thought it would be. Hope you do well

Hi SS4, did you also use the "Against All Odds" videos that so many others have recommended? I have been watching those and I was wondering if there is any point in watching both. Also, did you find any specific SD disc more useful than the rest? Thanks for your time.

No I didn't use the Against All Odds Tapes. In fact, I've never heard of them before. So, I couldn't advise on that. As far as the SD tapes are concerned, they all are important. You know what you could do, is just line up the insert cards or just the backs of the cases that say what they cover in the video, with the fact sheet for the test. Sorry I can't give more help. I just remember the SD tapes being very helpful in the practical application and making all the concepts more clear. Hope that was helpful

I am planning on taking stats OR testing next semester- still undecided. I ordered a text book in any event. I have netflix, so I will order the SD disks. I love using learner.org, however, my only complaint is that I can't get the movie to play full screen. My computer screen isn't big anyway, but when I play the videos, it is literally about a 4 inch square view. Did you have this trouble watching Against All Odds this way? Any advise on getting it to view larger?

If you double click on the small screen, it will take you to full screen.

No, I didn't have any trouble getting them full screen either. I just right-click and choose Zoom > Full Screen. Thanks for your input.

Double clicking didn't do it for me, but right clicking zoom did!!! THANKS SO MUCH! You have no idea how many hours I spent watching that little 4 inch movie!
