    Default test center server crash

I have a test retake dilemma the test center (strayer university owings mills) had a server crash and lost everbodies clep test scores from July 14 2007, now collegeboard will forward my exam results which I have with an explanation to Excelsior or issue me vouchers so I can retake the exam for free. If I take the no retake forward with an explanation collegeboard will have no records of my exam if I want them sent again. I am inclined to just have them send the results with the explanation cause I am in the middle of two courses right now but my question for those of you working on your masters did you have to send you clep transcripts to your school of choice for your masters? If you did I will bite the bullet and retake the exam which will suck as I got a 65 on it.

I'm not certain I understand the question. However, I do know that Excelsior considers CLEP exams Pass/Fail. Personally, as long as I got credit for passing the exam, I wouldn't worry about anything else. Collegeboard has on record that you got a Pass, right? If so, that should be all the CLEP transcript information that a Graduate school would need, or could rightfully use.

I'm not enrolling in grad school. but from what I understand, It doesn't matter whether you get a 51 or an 80 on your CLEPs. The exams do not meet the standards necessary to award a letter grade. I believe that it has something to do with issues of reliability in the exams. But don't quote me on that.

Anyone else know more about this??? Chime in.

Default no record in collegeboard system

That is the dilemma they will send a letter with a copy of my grade report so I will be granted credit from excelsior but they won't have it in their records that I took the exam so if in the future if I want to have a clep transcript sent principles of marketing won't be listed. But I would get credit with excelsior only. Pretty bizzarre isn't it, if I hadn't been working with an advisor on my official eval I would never have known about the whole thing. Excelsior told me they didn't have record of the exam so I called collegeboard and they didn't have any record of the exam, they had me call the test center and then call them back. Apparently anyone taking a clep that day is basically sol and has to retake or get the letter and grade report forwarded from collegeboard.

In my humble opinion, as long as Excelsior gives you credit, take it and run. Get the appropriate credits any way you can -- as efficiently as you can. That's been my philosophy.

I think that many grad schools will happily take your money if you have a Bachelors degree. Of course there are always exceptions.

I would encourage 2nd opinions on this.

Okay, Collegeboard is going to send a letter to EC as verification of your pass. so, would it be possible to get a copy of the letter from EC? That way, you'd have at least something in your hand for future reference. Just a thought.

Default lost whole weeks worth of clep results

While talking with collegeboard today the told me that a whole weeks worth of clep results were lost with this issue. He did check and with the exception of the priniciples of marketing exam all of my other results from this summer have made into there system. I imagine there are a lot of extremely p.o.'d people right now.
