    Default accrediation lingo help

    Hi again!

I am still in the learning process of understanding the accrediation lingo. Could someone help me with this, specificially I am looking at Oregon State University online.

Welcome -- Oregon State University -- Extended Campus -- Ecampus

For the degree I am working towards I need science classes with labs, all the schools I have looked at will not accept ECE exams for the sciences nor the clep bio or clep chemistry. So I am looking at this college for some of the science classes.

    Is the accrediation real?

Thank you in advance for any help and suggestions...

    Dawn

From what I read on your link, then going on to the accreditation link at

We're Accredited -- Oregon State University -- Extended Campus -- Ecampus

    It states:

    Quote:
Oregon State University is regionally accredited by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities (NWCCU). The Oregon State Board of Higher Education has authorized the University to offer undergraduate and graduate level certificates, baccalaureate, masters, doctorate, and first professional degrees

    It also states that:

    Quote:
Online degree programs and courses appear the same on your OSU transcript as do on-campus degrees and courses.

So yes, they are accredited, regionally.

Which college are you going through for the majority of your degree? Are you just using the U of O for the science portion?

    Default re: accrediation lingo help

    Hi,

I am currently a LPN working towards my RN - either the AA or BSN depending on which school I end up in first.

I am still not sure about which school - that depends on my science courses. Bucks Community College in PA is a possibility for the AA ; Oklahoma University is a possibility for the BSN; Johns Hopkins is a possibility for the BSN but I would need to finish a BA or BS first (thru Excelsior I am thinking) to transfer in as a 2nd major.

The science classes are really holding me back - getting to a on campus school for class has been impossible with my work schedule - and now finding an online class with online lab is exciting.

I can still register for the Fall 07 semester until Sept 30th, but I would hate to register and lose the money if it won't transfer and of course its Fri night and there is no way to call the schools I am interested in to find out about transferring credit.
