    Post Statistics Defeated!

Well, maybe it is defeated; Got to love those paper and pencil tests. Actually I was glad I didn't have the pressure of a time limit. It took me about 2 1/2 hours. I think I will at least pass. My calculator (TI BA 2+) was not a concern for the administrator; she didn't look at it. The calculator makes answering some difficult questions a breeze.

Difficulty was evenly distributed for the most part; maybe a little skewed to the right. (just had to use my new stat terms.)

I am glad I took the Algebra test just before this one. It helped me with mathematical notation and reading formulas.

Speaking of formulas, I think it is a good idea to memorize at least the major formulas. I was glad I did. I didn't use them intensely on the test, but it gave me a good understanding of the mechanics. Actually some concepts didn't really stick until I memorized the formulas.

    On my test:
    Lots of correlation and Regression.
    Null hypo stuff of course.
Empirical rule - understand this one.
    Probability all over
One good but out of the way formula to know: sample size for confidence intervals

The sample question sites mentioned in the specific exam feedback area (I think) are a good representation of the actual test.

    Study resources I used:
IC - you know about this one
The Complete Idiot's Statistics - Holds your hand the whole way. explains the concepts very well. Do all the practice problems.
Statistics Workbook for Dummies. - (What degrading titles, I know) This book has a lot of practice and helps the concepts stick. Highly recommended.

Overall a very doable test. Just work hard.

I took HTYH today also, but it seams every one already knows about this one. The specific exam feedback section is right on the money.

I have to thank every one on this forum for their input. If I do get a good grade you all will be partly to blame.

    Good night

    Cade

    Cade,

I was going to say CONGRATULATIONS but I realized you have to wait for your score, and I don't want to jinx you!

It took me 2-1/2 hours as well AND I totally agree with you that the Texas Instruments BAII Plus calculator is a HUGE help when taking this exam.

Thanks for the excellent feedback; it will now join the others in the specific feedback section.

Let us know as soon as you get your score!

    Take care,
    JoAnne

Hi Cade. Looking at your feedback, I'm guessing you did well. So here's an early Congrats!
