    Default ECE Ethics test question

    Hi All,

This is my first post, but I have already found IC to be awesome. I took the DSST ethics test yesterday (and yes, the yes/no questions were phrased in a completely insane way). I am ramping up to take the ECE Ethics test, as I am enrolled with excelsior. Going through the forums had some great information, but also confused me a bit. I have so far studied the passyouclass material,
official dsst guide, IC for ethics, and I plan on taking the practice test from ECE also. I hear the ECE test is much harder than the DSST, and I am not sure what to expect. Some one else in the forum mentioned to follow the "guide" for the test. Does any one know what/where that is? And also does any one have any other suggestions for this test? I have to say I am worried from the feedback I have read. Any help would be appreciated.

If the link below does not work, then go to www.excelsior.edu
create an ID (which will give you full access) and search for Examination Content Guide: Ethics Theory & Practice

It will give you a little clue for what you can expect.

    https://www.excelsior.edu/portal/pag..._schema=PORTAL

I've read of many people that did equally well on both exams. I personally smoked the DANTES with a 67 and barely passed the ECE with a C. As much concentration as the DANTES required, the ECE added another 50%. I don't have any words of wisdom other than give yourself some additional study time and really pay attention to the tips in the specific feedback section especially, and take this test when you are highly focused...I say this because every one of my tests I've taken first thing in the morning (my best time)...the ECE tests that I took were at the Pearson Testing center in the late afternoon (my worst time) because it was the only time I could get in there without waiting for three weeks.

    Good luck!

Two more things...first off Welcome to the Forum!!!!

Second thing...what I didn't do that many people suggested is to take the ECE practice exams....$60 for 2 and they are worded very similarly to the real test. That may be the best advice for you.

Default Study the Dantes study guide for this one....

I just took the ECE Ethics and didn't go back and take a look at the DSST Ethics study guide until later. In retrospect, I TOTALLY wish I did. The ECE Ethics asked a lot of questions on which views by whom did a certain statement fall into. If you know the theories pretty cold (not verbatim, just the ideas) you will do more than fine. The DSST study guide had them all listed in order by date, and by specific ideology. Can't beat the price either( FREE!). IC was of course invaluable. I don't know if I passed this one yet, but I suspsect I did. The pass rate on this test is over 75% so I don't think you have a whole bunch to stress about.
    Good luck!
    PS- Welcome!

    Default Just Take it!

I just got my score back, I got a solid B. I studied IC for about 2 days and managed to pull that one. It's not a bad test. I admit to being an NPR junkie, so some of the medical ethics issues I had heard about in my many months of listening.

    Good luck and don't fret!
That's 3 ECE UL tests for me in 3 weeks!
