Default How are CLEP and Dantes test scored ?

It seems that for all the clep or dantes tests I've taken a 49 is passing. Isn't this an 'F' ? Does anyone understand how these tests are scored ??

    thanks
    Rick

No, 49 would not be an "F". The CLEP scores and DSST scores are scaled. So the scaled score is between 20 and 80. The scores are not the same as being in a class and you receive a 49, which would be a failing grade. Also, most colleges will not accept a CLEP score below 50!

According to CLEP, a score of 50 would be the equivalent of a "C" grade. You can read more at their website.

Remember your score isn't a percent, it is a percentile.
