    Default Me too

I took it earlier in the week, felt almost as confident as soldierboy. Studying the CSA schedule really helped.

Glad to hear you both did well on the exam. You will almost certainly have passed if you felt reasonably good coming out of it.

    Here's hoping for high marks!

    Way to go,
    Snazzlefrag

    Smile Drug and Alcohol results

Took the test about 20 days ago and got the results today, scored a 51 and needed a 49. Whewwwwww! Studied only Instant Cert for about a week. Reading all of the explanations and answers was the key. This is the second test passed through this program, Thanks a lot,,, next is Humanities.

I'm glad to hear that people are passing this test with only Instacert. I'm taking this test on Friday and plan on only using Instacert to study.

    Hi PriTyan,

Here is a copy of a post I made elsewhere on the board, containing some additional helpful links for you to look over.

    ------
You do need to be familiar with the symptoms, effects, and withdrawal effects of the MAIN drugs of abuse. Don't go overboard, but at least be able to recognize which drug they are asking about when they mention certain withdrawal symptoms, or certain effects.

    This chart will help you....

    http://www.usdoj.gov/dea/pubs/abuse/chart.htm

These are very useful web sites with info on all the various drugs of abuse...

    http://www.drugabuse.gov/drugpages.html

    http://alcoholism.about.com/od/drugs/

    http://druglibrary.org/schaffer/dea/...e/contents.htm

    http://www.usdoj.gov/dea/pubs/abuse/index.htm

    ------
    Best of luck to you,

    Yes, please do!

There were several questions regarding side effect, overdose symptoms, withdrawal symptoms etc....so definitely go over the chart in the first link, okay? Focus on the common effects for each class rather than memorizing each specific drug on the chart. Then you can figure out the answers on the exam based on which class the specified drug belong to.

Nobody is expected to memorize the entire chart and every single drug's effects listed on it. But knowing the common effects shared by each class will be useful.

    Good luck,
    Snazzlefrag

    Question Hallucinogens and Dissociative Anesthetics?

Does the test differentiate between Hallucinogens and Dissociative Anesthetics? I've seen several sources that DO, but this page doesn't:

    http://www.usdoj.gov/dea/pubs/abuse/chart.htm

And there is no reference to the latter on the fact sheet:

    http://getcollegecredit.com/pdfs/fac...ol%20Abuse.pdf

Am I safe in assuming that Dantes does not use the term dissociative anesthetics or that they're under the heading of hallucinogens?

I think you're safe in sticking with just referring to hallucinogens. Be sure to spend a bit of time familarizing yourself with the legal drugs that fall under some of these categories - antidepressants, ADHD meds, pain meds... etc. You may see a few questions on them.

I think Snazz also put some additional information on another post that was really helpful for me - like knowing that the toxicity of alcohol is .4 and some ohter tidbits that are easy to remember and come in very helpful.

Oh, and Dantes puts the rate of alcohol elimination at .3 (may be .33 or .34)per hour not .5 like on IC.
