    Default Excelsior College New-Converts Thread

    Does anyone know if there is a referral fee for signing up people to attend Excelsior College??

    I have now signed up my wife and my mom to finish their degrees at Excelsior.

    Anyone else have similar results/stories?? Were you converted to Excelsior and would like to tell your story??

    Please reply.

    Default New Excelsior students can save hundreds by joining EC partner associations etc

    That's great. tell your friends and family to spend $60 to join the national latino peace officers association. They will save hundreds on admissions/enrollment at EC and also on the grad fee. My wife and mom are now members and neither are "latino peace officers", but they are both saving a bundle.

    Check out the NLPOA site.

    There are also other groups that have partnerships with EC. They are listed on the right side of the Excelsior webpage at this link;

    It is true you can save a lot of money this way, but it is important to remember that Excelsior has credit requirements for this program. You have to complete 9 credit hours from Excelsior for the Associates and 12 credit hours from Excelsior for the Bachelors. If you don't, then the fees revert to the normal rate. Also, I'm not sure if both EC courses and exams qualify, or it is just the courses.

    You sent in your info to who??

    You don't have to provide proof to Excelsior that you are a member of the association by the way, you just have to click on the appropriate box at admission. If you have joined and are awaiting your membership packet, you are considered a member, as long as you have sent in your paperwork.

    If it is Excelsior that hasn't called you back I would say call them on Monday and ask to speak with a counselor. I have had only positive and timely responses from Excelsior.

    Very true.

    It is however a way to defer paying the high fees until later if you don't decide to take the 9 or 12 units after all. EC is very flexible with switching your program later if you ask. (I did because I wanted my AS quickly and decided to pay) EC exams, dantes and cleps do not count toward the 9 or 12 units. I already checked.

    I stand corrected. They have never asked for my card, a card from my mom or my wife. Crazy stuff here... Sorry..

    Perhaps this is something new. My apologies. Had you already enrolled and then asked for the discount?

    Call NLPOA and ask to speak to someone who knows something. I will call tomorrow also as I have referred alot of people to them. If you want to PM me your name I can drop it also when I call.

    Good luck..
