Default Was told on the phone that TESC does not accept CompTIA certifications for credit

So I decided to email them
    -----------------------------------------------------------------------

    To whom it may concern,

I need to find out if CompTIA Certifications can be converted into College Credit.
I noticed here http://69.56.204.146/tesc/network.htm that TESC offers a Certificate Program for CompTIA A+ that translates to 32 CEU’s.
Is this applicable If the CompTIA certification has been attained?

I was told to have CompTIA mail the transcript to TESC.
CompTIA informed me that they do not mail transcripts, and the only way to receive transcripts is electronically.

I spoke with Excelsior College and they accept CompTIA electronically through CompTIA’s Trancript Publishing Program.
    https://www.excelsior.edu/portal/page?_pageid=57,583142&_dad=portal&_schema=PORTAL

    Thank you,
    -----------------------------------------------------------------------

    We'll see what happens

So, can I presume that you're not going to send your $$$ to TESC and then enroll exclusively with EXCELSIOR COLLEGE?

LOL I'm weighing my options, and there are a lot of Variables.

At this time, it looks like Excelsior and TESC transfer credits differently.

It also looks like they will transfer from eachother's Credit Banks.

So, if Excelsior accepts 10-20 credits via IT Certifications and TESC accepts 20+ credits via FEMA and they both accept my previous college credits and CLEP/DANTES, then I'll have some decisions to make.

Right now, I'm just waiting for all of my trancripts to be received by both colleges.

From there I will apply to both, find a plan of action for my CLEP/DANTES/PENN/etc and set out.

After I've completed them, I can then enroll with either or both depending on what I have and what I need.

Luckily for me, Criminal Justice, Emergency Management (Homeland Security) and Business MIS all coincide with my career, so it should be fun either way. (10 years of IT Security, 6 of which were with a government facility responsible for Emergency Operations in Florida, DURING the worst hurricane seasons in years)

Since posting the above post, TESC has responded to my email twice and are looking into it for me, which is decent news.

At the time I worked for Orange County, but I've since moved to the Space Coast. I work with a Security Firm on the East Coast.

I got the following input from employee Doris Simmons when I asked a while back by emailing enrolled@tesc.edu:

Credit is given for the CompTIA A+ exam and the CompTIA Network+ exam. You would receive the following credit for the A+ exam: CAP-171 Windows 2 semester hours (free elective only) and Network+ exam: Network - CAP-181 Networks 2 semester hours (CIS elective)...

I never got the credit though because they had no idea how to handle the on-line transcript provided by compTIA. Reeeeally amateur if you ask me.

I agree, its unfortunate! I spoke to Excelsior about Microsoft's Trancript Sharing Tool which allows any college, employer, or third party to log onto Microsoft.com securely to view the certified transcripts. Their response was "huh?".

You have to remember that sometimes the person you speak/spoke to are not connected with the transcript office, they're the ones that would/should know.

Unfortunately, that is who I spoke to. And the Office of the Registrar for TESC.
