    Default CLEP Scores

I've taken five CLEPs and two DANTES tests in the military, but my scores look much different than the scores reported in many of your posts. Instead of receiving two digit scores like "50" or "60" my scores have been three digit like "520" or "510". Does anyone know how to translate these scores?

Appreciate your time, thank you, erj

    Hi Erj,

No worries...they used to use a scoring range between 200 and 800. A few years ago they changed their scoring range to between 20 and 80 (I think they did it to avoid any confusion with the SAT scoring range).

Divide your score by ten to translate it to the current scoring protocol. 520 becomes 52, 780 becomes 78, and so on. The generic passing score would have been around 500 under the old scoring system.

    Hope that helps,

Thanks for the words. I think I'll be posting more frequently when my degree audit returns from EXC and I begin to test.

    Thanks again, Erj
