    13. WATER AND WHAT HAPPENS WHEN A POND IS LEFT ALONE
    14. IRRIGATION AND ITS' IMPACT ON OUR ENVIRONMENT..COSTS, ENERGY
    15. WHAT CONSTITUTES ENERGY IN THE WORLD OF OUR ENVIRONMENT
    16. HOW SHOULD WE TREAT "STACKABLE" POLLUTION ISSUES
    17. PHOTOSYNTHESIS THE HOW'S AND IMPACTS
    18 ALGEA..IMPACT..DEVELOPMENT
    19. OCEAN GROWTH COMPARED TO TROPICAL FOREST DEVELOPMENT
    20. COAL AND ITS' POLLUTION IMPACT AND HOW BEST TO DEAL WITH IT
    21. SOLAR HEATING AND AMOUNT OF HEAT ABSORBED BY EARTH
    22. CURRENT POPULATION TRENDS..GROWTH AND DEATH RATES
    23. ANTARTICA AND CARBON DIOXIDE FINDINGS
    24. KEYSTONE AND INDICATOR FACTORS
    25. FARMING AND SOIL CONSERVATION DEVELOPMENTS TO PROTECT THE ENVIRONMENT

THERE'S AT LEAST 50 QUESTIONS OR MORE CONTAINED IN THESE TOPICS..MORE THAN ENOUGH TO DEVELOP A CHECKLIST FOR STUDYING. GOOD LUCK TO ALL!!!

It sounds like SCIENCE to me....'Principles of Environmental Science'. I don't know what TESC is thinking by not counting is as such. Maybe DANTES' "weak" sounding name scares them off.

Same with 'Here's to Your Health'. I wish DANTES would call it 'Principles of Health Studies' or 'Intro to Health Science'.

    Here's to Your Health
    Race to Save the Planet

I doubt they could have given them any less 'academic' sounding names.

Sorry RBOWMAN...I just had to get that off my chest.

Thanks again for your very detailed feedback. It will certainly help those of us who have yet to take this exam.

'Here's to Your Score' and may you win your 'Race to Pass the Exam',

???? How can an exam with the word "SCIENCE" in it not be science ????

    Default Science

    Bowman,

"Environment and Humanity: Race to save the planet (Ens-201-DE)" is listed as a DSST Natural science requirement satisfier. Unless you require a different science catagory such as physics of chemistry. I would talk to a different advisor. (Check you PM) TESC is usually very liberal when taking credits, so they are not scared of DSST or course names.

    ShotoJuku,

The official name is "Environment & Humanity: The Race to Save the Planet".

I was trying to say that it would be BETTER if they called it something more academic. Something which more accurately reflected its content. They should call it something like "Principles of Environmental Science" instead of giving it a name that makes it sound like the latest marketing gimmick on a middle of the night infomercial.

    Sorry for the confusion.

    Hi RBOWMAN,

    Any results yet?

I just started going over the Insantcert material for this exam and, in the inimitable words of my old mum, "WTF?". This is going to be a long hard slog to get through all this material.

First, it seems that every term I read is entirely new to me.
Second, it seems that every new term I learn has an associated list of sub-terms, sub-sub-terms, and sub-sub-sub-terms (all new to me).
Third, trying to organize all those terms into concise study notes is a mammoth task.
Fourth, this is SO ABSOLUTELY a SCIENCE (I don't know what TESC is thinking).
Fifth, this subject is of almost zero interest to me.
    Sixth, WTF?

After studying Instantcert, did you find this exam A) Easier than expected, B) Harder than expected, or C) WTF?

    Just wondering!

    Thanks,
    Snazzlefrag

Default We're Hurting ..and I Apologize About My Slow Response

You probably have noticed that there have been no postings from me for the past two weeks. Our youngest daughter, Nicole, was diagnosed with cervical cancer just 14 days ago. She is now in the process of determining her next few steps in life to deal with raising a 10 year old son and fighting a battle she was so terribly unprepared for in all facets of her life. She lives in Minnesota..so we were there to help support her. Then while there, my Mother in New York had her Alzheimer's go from bad to rotten so we traveled over to Binghamton and had her placed on hospice. Life certainly can deal all of us some very humbling blows at a moments notice. I love to write and won the national award for creative writing some years back and then wrote a well none and often quoted Alzheimer's poem of tribute to my Mom called,"Nothing Left To Say". I mention all of this because right now with all that's going on I feel as if I want to find some words to say what my wife and I are feeling, but they have escaped me, Iam "hoping" to find them again very soon.
Okay, onto the other stuff... no, I haven't received the test results from THE ENVIRONMENT AND THE RACE TO SAVE THE PLANET. I expect to hear any day. I'll let you know when I do. Also, tesc , has agreed to accept this as a science credit. AND, finally, the posting I did regarding this test, I posted immediately after taking the test. It should be very, very right on in terms of the format and questions. If you can find the answers to these questions and use instantcert ...you'll do great. I promise. I was surprised by the number of noninstantcert question base brought up in this test. Know the answers to the areas I listed and the instantcert materials and all will be well. Take care my friend and God bless!
